Padel Coaching in Malaysia - Where Can You Learn Padel in Malaysia?

If you are reading this blog, it probably means you are either thinking of picking up padel, or you love the game and would like to improve your skills. Regardless of your intention, padel is indeed a growing sport in Malaysia and the demand for padel coaching has also picked up steam. So, where can we learn the sports? Well, we don't have all the answers but we are able to shed some light on this.

Who Offer Padel Coaching?

1) Padel Association

2) Sports Clubs

3) Private Companies

4) Individuals

1)  Padel Association

A padel association is usually set up by people who are passionate about the sports and want to promote the game in Malaysia. An example of a padel association is the Selangor Padel Association and the Malaysia Padel Association. Let's take Selangor Padel Association for instance. Their purpose is to create awareness of the sports and encourage folks in Selangor to pick up the games; either leisurely or competitively. Therefore, they usually charge the cheapest rate in town.  However, they will usually pack more people into one session, so it might take you longer to learn the game. However, you do have the option of complementing the group session with some individual lessons.

2) Sports Clubs

If you have read our blog on "Where Can You Play Padel in Malaysia," you would have noticed that there are several private sports clubs that rent out padel courts. Well, some of these clubs have coaches who offer pickleball coaching to their members or even to the public. .

3) Private Companies

There are a few businesses that are specialized in providing padel lessons. Some of them run their own courts while others rent the courts at various locations. They usually employ full-time or part-time coaches. Many of these coaches are typically young professionals, so their students are usually working adults.

4) Individuals

Other than those coaches attached to a sports club or private companies, there are also other coaches who work alone. They will find their own students and handle everything by themselves. Their fees are typically not as high as those charged by clubs or companies and they are more flexible in terms of timing and location. Some of them are willing to travel to their students' preferred location.

Types of Padel Lessons

1) Individual

This is a 1-to-1 lesson whereby one coach will only teach one student at any time. The student will be able to pick up the game easily. However, as students pick up the skills, they might find this lesson boring. Instead, they may prefer to join group sessions instead

2) Group

A group session is whereby one coach will teach a few students (usually 4 or more) at one time. Compared to individual lesson, students in a group session might pick up the game more slowly. However, the advantage is that their interest in the game might remain for a longer period of time due to companionship and social networking
