Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 - Why Is It So Popular?

If you have had a chance to look at our ranking of the Best Apacs Badminton Rackets, you would have known that ranked # 2 on the chart is Nano Fusion Speed 722. It is arguably the most searched Apacs badminton rackets online. So, there must be a reason why it is so popular. In this blog post, we will not brag about this racket as we have already done so in the other blog post. Instead, we will compare it to other similar rackets from famous brands.

Before that, just a brief recap of Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 product specs. This treasure weighs about 77g, has a somewhat even balance and possesses a medium-flex shaft. The frame of the NFS722 is known as Slim Box. It has less air resistance and the box shape adds stability and power to the racket. Therefore, it has both power and speed. As for the shaft itself, it is thick. This means it has stable handling.

So, who will we be comparing the Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 to? Of course, there must be a Yonex model in there. And, a Li-Ning and lastly, not forgetting Apacs fiercest competitor in the local market, Felet. First up, we will compare it against one of Yonex most popular lightweight racket, Astrox Lite 27i

Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 vs Yonex Astrox Lite 27i

Weight:
77g (Apacs) vs 78g (Yonex)

Balancing:
Even Balance vs Head Heavy

Shaft Flex:
Medium vs High

Shaft Diameter:
7.5mm vs 7.2mm

Maximum Tension:
Both 30lbs

Grommet System:
Both 72 holes

Observations:
Both rackets are about the same weight, 77-78g. However, they differ in terms of balancing and shaft flex. Astrox lite 27i has a head heavy balance, so when you smash the shuttlecock or hit your baseline shot, the shuttlecock will have more momentum. Your smash will be more powerful and your shots from the baseline will pass the net easily. However, due to its head heaviness, your wrist might feel the extra burden after a few games. This is even more apparent when you play singles. In terms of Shaft Flex, the Astrox Lite 27i has a high flex, which will help you hit your baseline shots and backhands even more easily. The NFS722 is not bad in this aspect though, as it has a medium flex. Though not as high flex as the Astrox Lite, it is still sufficient for intermediate players to execute their shots with adequate power.

As for shaft diameter, the Astrox Lite 27i is slightly thinner, making it a bit less air resistant. With all other things equal, the Astrox Lite 27i will reach the shuttlecock slightly earlier than the NFS722. However, with a thicker shaft, the NFS722 has a more stable handling: it is not as susceptible to extreme vibration or twisting. This also means you can place your shots more accurately. In addition, the NFS722 has a Slim Box frame, so the Box features adds even more stability and power to the racket. It will have less torsion. Finally, in terms of maximum tension and grommet system, both rackets are similar

Conclusions:
So, who wins? Well, in terms of ease of maneuverability, Yonex Astrox Lite 27i has a slight advantage due to its higher flex point and head heavy balance. However, in terms of control and shot accuracy, Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 has a slight edge here. Therefore, if you are just starting to play the games or relearning the games after a long period of absence, we suggest using the Astrox Lite 27i. On the other hand, if you already know how to play the games and want to improve on it, then the NFS722 might be the better choice

Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 vs Li-Ning Wind Lite Stealth 78g

Weight:
77g (Apacs) vs 78g (Li-Ning)

Balancing:
Even Balance vs Head Heavy

Shaft Flex:
Medium vs High

Shaft Diameter:
7.5mm vs High-Tensile Slim

Maximum Tension:
Both 30lbs

Grommet System:
Both 72 holes

Observations:
Wind Lite Stealth 78g is very similar to Yonex Astrox lite 27i. It weighs 78g, is head heavy and has a high flex. However, it goes one step further by having a balance that is even head heavier than the Astrox Lite. With this high head heavy balance, the racket generates a lot of momentum. Your backhands and baseline shots can be executed with ease.  However, due to its head heaviness, your wrist will get tired faster as usual and it gets worse for singles players. As for Shaft Flex, the Wind Lite has a high flex as well, which gives the shuttlecock an extra push upon contact. As mentioned earlier, The NFS722 has a medium flex, so it is not as flexible as the Wind Lite. However, more experienced players prefer a less flexible shaft

In terms of shaft diameter, the Wind Lite is very much different from NFS722. Its shaft is slim, versus the thick shaft of the NFS722. The slim shaft enables the racket to reach the shuttlecock earlier due to less air resistance and enhanced swing speed. Even though the shaft is slim, it also has high tensile. This means it has lower torsion than a standard slim shaft. On the contrary, the thicker shaft of the NFS722 affords it greater stability than the Wind Lite. In addition, even though its shaft is not slim, the Slim Box frame of NFS722 adds extra speed to the racket. Lastly, in terms of maximum tension and grommet system, both rackets are similar

Conclusions:
Alike the Yonex Astrox Lite 27i, in terms of ease of maneuverability, Li-Ning Wind Lite Stealth 78g has a slight advantage over the NFS722 due to its higher flex point and head heavy balance. Moreover, its slim shaft and Compressed Groove technology also give it an edge in regard to speed. However, in terms of control and shot accuracy, Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 still has a slight edge here. Hence, for beginners who need a racket that can give them a boost of strength, the Li-Ning Wind Lite Stealth 78g would be a good choice. On the contrary,  intermediate players looking to refine their game through shot accuracy, would find the NFS722 more likeable.

Apacs Nano Fusion Speed 722 vs Felet Light tech T3

Weight:
77g (Apacs) vs 78g (Felet)

Balancing:
Even Balance vs Extra Head Heavy

Shaft Flex:
Both medium

Shaft Diameter:
7.5mm vs 7.0mm

Maximum Tension:
30lbs vs 32lbs

Grommet System:
72 holes vs 76 holes

Observations:
Felet Light Tech T3 is the final model we will be comparing the NFS722 against. Felet is often seen as Apacs' closest rival, so it will be interesting to compare these two models. First off, let's talk about racket balancing. As we know, the NFS722 is evenly balanced. This is in stark contrast to the T3, as the T3 is extra head heavy, at about 310mm. Therefore, the racket generates very high strength, giving each shot a boost. Again, the thing to watch out here is the stress it imposes on your wrist. Secondly, in regard to the flexibility of the shaft, both have medium flex. Hence, no difference there. Thirdly, for shaft diameter, the T3 has a thinner shaft than the NFS722, by 0.5mm. As we know, a thinner shaft results in higher speed, albeit very little extra speed in this instance. Fourthly, regarding the maximum tension of each racket, the T3 has a slight advantage here. It promises to support tension up to 32lbs, versus 30lbs for the NFS722. Last but not least, the grommet system is different between the two. The T3 has a 76-hole grommet system while the NFS722 has a 72-hole system. A 76-hole system yields more control and solid feeling. Moreover, it tends to hold the tension more consistently. On the contrary, a 72-hole system generates more spin and power, as well as place less strain on your racket.

Conclusions:
If you are a looking for a racket that is fast, light and easy to handle, there is no doubt that you should choose Felet Light Tech T3. Its High Speed frame and slim shaft give it an edge over the NFS722 in terms of speed. On the flip side, should you require a racket that is light, relatively fast and yet stable, you can consider the NFS722. The NFS722 also has a slim feature in its racket head, and its Box Frame design as well as thicker shaft mean the racket is less susceptible to torsion and extreme vibration. For players who want to place the shuttlecock exactly where they want it to be, the NFS722 would be of greater help here.
